Dealing with Negative Attachments

Hello There!
Today I'd like to talk to you about Negative Attachments and how you can either avoid or remove them, and what steps you can take to protect yourself from future attachments.

What is a Negative Attachment anyway?
A negative attachment is an energy source, that is affecting you in a negative way. These attachments can be as simple as "picking up" another persons emotional junk or can be as complex as a spirit attachment.

One of the most common questions that I get is " Are Negative Attachments real?" and my answer to that is always the same...

"It doesn't really matter if the attachment you are experiencing is real or perceived, what truly matters is that your psyche and personal energy are being affected by it. When our subconscious mind believes something to be true it is time to take action to remove the belief and get the mind back to balance and harmony"

Types of Attachments
  1. Emotional Attachments - This is the most common type of attachment that I experience with my clients and is the easiest one to remove from your personal energy. An emotional attachment is formed by allowing another persons emotional junk or trauma to affect us in a negative way. This can happen when you console a friend that is going through a rough time in their life, are dealing with a family member who does not handle their own emotional crap well, or even as a result of misdirected anger from a complete stranger! These are just a few examples to help introduce you to the many possible causes of an emotional attachment.
  2. Past Life Attachments - Past Life Attachments are a direct result of past life trauma that the subconscious mind has refused to forget. Usually the memory of the event itself is blocked, but the emotional connection  is remembered and triggered by events in this lifetime.
  3. Spirit Attachments - A spirit attachment occurs as a result of a spirit attaching itself to your energy and is one of the most difficult types of attachments to deal with. Most spirit attachments are the souls of people who died instantly or just plain refused to go into the light for one reason or another. 
How to Know if You Have A Negative Attachment
The rule of thumb that I like to follow is that if you think/believe/or feel that you may have a negative attachment, then chances are, you do! I encourage my clients to ALWAYS trust their instincts. For those of you who think you might have an attachment and are still questioning it, here is a list of symptoms that may be a result of a Negative Attachment:

Sudden onset of tiredness, fatigue, feeling like your energy is drained, headaches, irritability, nightmares, hearing voices in your head, developing new habits/addictions, memory lapses, lack of ambition, feelings of anger/frustration, unexplained fits of rage, seeing a dark spirit or entity out of the corner of your eye, feeling like you are someone else, and/or physical illness.
*Please note that you may experience one or all of these symptoms and can also be a result of something else, so I suggest that you follow my first recommendation to trust your instincts.
 
Protecting Your Energy

The most effective way to protect yourself from negative attachments is to avoid them all together. This can be accomplished simply, by adopting a daily regimen of creating a protective energy field around yourself. this should be done in the morning and before you leave the house for the day. You can use any method that you feel comfortable with. Just be sure to remember to do it daily!

Here is one of my favorite techniques that I use daily for myself and is great for those of you who do not know how to create a protective energy field. (I also do this at night, while I am lying in bed to protect myself while sleeping.)
My Daily Energy Shield
  • Close your eyes and visualize a stream of pure white light, coming down to you from Spirit/God/Goddess. 
  • Allow this light to come to the top of your head and imagine that it is spiraling down and about an inch away and around your body. 
  • Continue to allow the light to spiral around you until it reaches your feet and say "I surround myself with a protective spiral of light that none shall pass or penetrate"
  • Feel free to repeat this visualization throughout the day as needed.

Clearing Your Energy

In some cases, Negative Attachments can slip in to your energy even if you practice a daily protective regimen. This can be due to a number of reasons, the most probable ones are that you forgot to do your protective shield, or had the attachment prior to protecting yourself.

Regardless of why the attachment is there, you will want to remove it from your energy as soon as possible and here is a great techniques that you can use at home to remove all three types of attachments.
Removing Energetic Attachments
This meditation is best to do at the end of the day, but can be done anytime to help clear your energy of negative attachments.
  • Close your eyes and imagine that you can perceive your own energy field. Do this with whatever method is comfortable for you ( IE: imagine that you can see it, feel it or just know that it is there).
  • Now allow yourself to notice if there is a stream of energy coming into your energy from somewhere else.
  • Allow yourself to become aware of its color so that you can know what types of attachment it is. (Black is usually an emotional attachment; Silver is usually a Spirit attachment and any other color is usually a past life attachment.)
  • Say out-loud or quietly in your mind, "Send this energy back to its source - it is not welcome here and I refuse to hold it", as you imagine the colored energy leaving you and going back to where it came from.
  • Continue this imagery until all attachments have been released.
  • Be sure to create a protective energy shield around your energy when you are done. 
Professional Help

If you have tried to remove an attachment yourself and are still experiencing symptoms, it may be an indication for you to seek the assistance of someone who has experience with releasing negative attachments. A trained professional will be able to help you remove the attachment and give you some helpful tips to keep yourself safe from future attachments.

Here is a list of the most popular methods used professionally to help remove Negative Attachments:

  1. Cord Cutting Ceremony - This is a quick and simple method used to help release emotional attachments.This method is not as effective on past life and spirit attachments though. The entire process takes less than 15 minutes to perform.
  2. Reiki Healing Session - A Reiki healing session takes a bit longer than a Cord Cutting Ceremony (usually about a half hour to an hour) and is great for not only removal of emotional and past life attachments, but can also prove beneficial for healing any emotional and physical ailments that have occurred as a result of the attachment.
  3. Hypnosis Session - A trained hypnotist can help remove even the most difficult attachments through past life regression and releasment hypnosis. The hypnosis session can also prove beneficial in recognizing how and when the attachment was formed, as well as creating a subconscious barrier to protect from future attachments.

Hi. I have been struggling with a spirit attachment in my leg for two years now and it is making me very unwell. I also have Ethric spiders that attack me each night when i am in bed. The latter are slightly helped by sea salt baths which remove a few minor ones but they are topped up many times over each night. I am 74 and find it very hard to cope at times.

Dealing with negative emotions can never be easy. People often encounter this complication. I think it's a very typical problem for many individuals. You can't ignore emotions. Because ignoring the sentiments will never be the healthiest approach to dealing with them. A triggering event can lead to negative emotions. Thus, to cope with your gloomy emotions, you need to cope with your emotions first. Try to follow an assertive communication approach. Besides that, you need to follow a cognitive restructuring method so that you can change your negative thinking pattern.
